Strong, compact, showing power and endurance. Calm, intelligent and alert.
TEMPERAMENT Easily trained, excellent sheep and guard dog. Great size and beautiful appearance make him an ideal companion dog. HEAD Balanced, dry, carried moderately high. Length of muzzle a little bit bigger than length of skull, or equal. Skull in profile a little bit arched, frontal furrow shallow. Stop well marked, not too straight. NOSE Tip of nose middle sized with open nostrils, black. MUZZLE Strong, gently tapering to the nose, bridge of nose straight. LIPS Close fitting, edges dark pigmented. TEETH Strong, all teeth even, Scissor bite, level bite permitted. EYES Middle sized, clear, a little bit slanting, dark in colour. Eye rims dark. EARS Set at outer corner of eye level or a little bit higher, middle sized, rather thick, triangular, dense coated, inner edge of ear touches head. Ear leather mobile. NECK Middle sized, muscular, no dewlap, profuse ruff. Upper line of neck raised over back line. FOREQUARTERS Muscular, strong but not too heavy bones, seen from the front straight. Shoulders slightly sloping, closely attached to the rib cage. CHEST Deep, ribs oblique, rather flat. Belly slightly tuck up. WITHERS Well marked, broad. BODY Long and massive. Back straight, broad, loins wide, compact. CROUP A little bit sloping croup. HINDQUARTERS Seen from the rear vertical. Rather well angulated. Metatarsus vertical. Hind toes the same as front toes. FEET Metacarpus a little bit inclining. Toes compact, feet oval, thick hair between pads. Pads strong, hard, dark pigmented. Nails strong, blunt, preferably dark. TAIL Set on not too high, carried under back line, when alert tail can be carried over back line. Tail reaches hocks, forming a curve at the end. COAT Hair on head, front side of front legs and hind legs from hocks to the ground short. Hair on neck and body long, dense, straight or a little bit wavy, hard in touch, with profuse undercoat. A rich ruff over the neck, long and profuse hair on tights, bushy tail. COLOURS: White. Cream overlay not to be encouraged. HEIGHT Height at withers: dogs: 65 - 70 cm , bitches: 60 - 65 cm.
